I do love my smoothies, especially green smoothies. With a spoonful of Moringa leaf powder in them. Obviously!
What I don't love is rushing around like a maniac in the morning before work, chopping up the fruit and veg and leaving a right old mess for my housemate to clean up.
Even worse is if I get up out of bed late after a punishing night down the boozer and don't have time to make a smoothie. That makes me very cross with myself. Not a good way to start the day. Especially with an hangover!
So that's where pre-made smoothie freezer packs come in handy.
By preparing smoothie packs ahead of time, I can have healthy smoothies ready to pop into my blender whenever I need them.
I can prepare a full week's worth of smoothie goodness on the weekend before; so a tasty and nutritious breakfast is just minutes away. And smoothie packs will keep for several months in the freezer.
It's a great way to supercharge the start to your day and you'll also save yourself quite a bit of money since you'll be buying the fruit and veggies in bulk.
Just chop up the fruit and veg, place them into zip-top bags -or jars if you prefer - and write on the bag which superfood powder - moringa of course - you'll add to the blender when you blend it.
You may also want to jot down what type and how much liquid gets blended into each smoothie pack.
And last but not least, squeeze as much air as possible from the bags before sealing them. If you are using jars then pack the fruit and veg in tightly and screw the lids on.
Then simply store them in the freezer for when you need them.
No wasted food. No wasted time. BOOM!
P.S And it's not just smoothies you can do this with. You can pre-prepare soups this way as well for a healthy lunchtime meal. Apparently souping is the new juicing!
